Why am I everyones Sys Admin?

There used to be an old saying.  Every family needed a Dr. and a lawyer.  Now that we have moved into the Internet age.  Every family needs a Dr., lawyer AND a computer guy.

I am a sys admin and I love my job for the most part.  I don’t mind helping you out by answering a few questions about your computer every now and then.  But why is is that you ask me the SAME question 3 times??!!??  Did you forget what I told you last time?

Hey, you paid alot of money for the machine.  Take some pride and figure out how it works!  There is this thing called Google.  Think about asking it your questions before you decide to pick up the phone and call me for a 4th time when you email is not working.  Hell, I don’t even work for the company that provides your email services.  Call them they get paid to help you.

Remember I have a full time job and its not dedicated to the box under YOUR desk.
